Balinese cendrawasih birds frame the portraits of Rama and Sita in an inspired wood panel by Nyoman Indrawati Subrata of the Subrata Family. She works with crocodile wood with exquisite detail, coaxing the wood's grain to underscore the quality of her work. Rama is the hero king in the Ramayana epic, and while in exile Sita his wife was kidnapped by an evil king. The renowned legend tells of Rama's adventures and battles to rescue her, and together they have become icons of divine love
The artisan carries on the extraordinary art work of her late father, Nyoman Subrata.
