Colorful and elegant, this flower vase is handcrafted by Mexican artisan Topiltzin Castro in the Talavera style with a low, round bowl and a long, narrow neck. The exterior is hand-painted in a chevron motif filled with vertical pinstripes in cerulean blue. In between each chevron row is a motif of cornflower blue teardrops interspersed with warm brown dots. The background is left unglazed, allowing the matte, natural ivory color of the ceramic to show through. The rim is painted a warm brown.
