Golden World Map Reverse Painted Glass Wood Decorative Box - Cartographer's Treasure | NOVICA

This decorative box features beautiful reverse painted glass with a map of the world on its lid in a golden brown palette to give it an antiqued look. Peruvian artisan Asunta Pelaez handcrafts the box from plywood and paints by hand the world map scene on the reverse side of a pane of glass that is then secured to the box surface. The four sides of the box also have reverse painted glass in blocks of color in the same brown, orange, and gold tones as the map. The lid can be removed to reveal a single compartment, painted black.
