The energetic danza de las tijeras or 'scissors dance' of Peru, performed in Quechua villages, is listed on UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Jesus Urbano in Peru recreates the dance in this wonderful wood and plaster retablo. The retablo is carefully painted by hand and depicts the costumed dancers and accompanying musicians.
