Peru's Antuane and Santos create a wood pendant necklace that is effortlessly beautiful. They craft a heart-shaped outline from hualtaco wood and suspend the pendant from cotton cord; an aluminum s-hook clasp serves to close the attractive accessory. However, the utter simplicity of the necklace's design belies the complex issue behind the pendant's creation. Motivated by their concern for the environment, the artisan duo use reclaimed wood for their products. 'Our philosophy is to try to get people to think about taking care of the planet through our accessories,' they state. 'We speak through them, starting with gathering the wood we recycle for our pieces.'
